Rotor Blades (2004)
video installation, 3' 59''

Military helicopters are filmed from the ground while in flight. The footage is interjected by black tape and the whole piece is projected onto the ceiling and runs on a loop.

Every thirty seconds the loud sound of an approaching helicopter is followed by the sky opening above the head of the spectator to reveal a helicopter speeding by at low altitude.

The piece is backed by the sound of Palestinians rummaging through the rubble of their destroyed houses after an actual air strike.
